BENGALURU: Seven JD(S) MLAs who were suspended by their party for cross-voting during the Rajya Sabha polls in 2016 will meet Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss the modalities for joining the party in December. JD(S) MLA B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan told TOI that Rahul Gandhi will give the final clearance for their entry into the party. They were suspended for defying the party whip and voting for Cong ress candidate K C Ramamurthy. Chief minister Siddaramaiah who accompanied Rahul Gandhi to New Delhi on Wednesday will meet him on Thursday to discuss filling the three vacancies in the cabinet and one in the legislative council. It s learnt that chief minister Siddaramaiah will try to strike a caste balance by taking a Dalit a Kuruba and Lingayat just like the earlier incumbents. The lone MLC seat which fell vacant following the death of BJP member Vimala Gowda has several aspirants.
